Privacy policy

Motion Studio is designed to keep your creations on your computer. This page explains, simply, what data is processed, why, and how to exercise your rights.

1. Who is responsible

2. In short

  • Your videos, media, projects and exports stay on your Mac. We have no access to them.
  • The account is optional (sign in with Google) and only used for the community.
  • Motion IA uses your Claude account: what you ask goes to Anthropic, not to us.
  • The app sends anonymous statistics (numbers, never your texts or files), which you can turn off.
  • We sell no data and show no ads.

3. What stays on your computer

Imported media, projects, exports, reference videos, transcriptions (made on your Mac by Whisper), the voices you create and their samples (deleted after creation, or after one hour), your settings, and your Anthropic and ElevenLabs keys (stored in the macOS Keychain). None of this is sent to us.

4. The data we process

a) Your account (if you sign in)

  • Data: email address, name, profile picture and identifier provided by Google; creation and last sign-in dates.
  • Why: to sign you in and run the community.
  • Legal basis: performance of the Terms of use.
  • Retention: as long as your account exists. Deleted on request, or after 3 years without sign-in.
  • Your email is never shown to other users.

b) The community

  • Data: your public name (username), the templates you publish (title, description, category, template file, preview video), the reports you send (reason and comment), and the number of uses of each template.
  • Why: to publish, display and moderate templates, and handle reports.
  • Legal basis: performance of the Terms of use; our legitimate interest and legal obligations for moderation.
  • Retention: templates stay online until you withdraw them (erased from our servers within 30 days) or until your account is deleted. Reports are kept for 1 year after they are handled.
  • Your username and published templates are visible to all users.

c) Usage statistics

  • Data: a randomly generated installation identifier (never linked to your account, renewed every 13 months), and numeric events: launch, generation (level, duration, success or not), export (duration, resolution), voice-over (number of characters), AI sound; plus the app and macOS versions. Never your requests, texts, project names or files.
  • Why: to know how many people use the app, what works and what fails, in order to improve it.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest (anonymous audience measurement).
  • Retention: 25 months.
  • You can turn them off in the Motion IA settings: nothing is recorded or sent anymore, and anything waiting to be sent is deleted.

d) When you email us

  • Data: your email address and the content of your message.
  • Why: to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest. Retention: 3 years after the last exchange.

5. Services used by the app

  • Supabase (accounts, community, statistics) — data hosted in the European Union.
  • Google — sign-in happens on Google's page, so Google knows you are signing in to Motion Studio (see Google's privacy policy).
  • GitHub — download of the app and its updates (GitHub sees your IP address when you download).
  • Hugging Face and GitHub — download, on first use, of the Whisper transcription model and of the voice clean-up tool.
  • Web fonts — if a project uses an online font (Google Fonts), it is loaded from Google's servers during preview and export.

Supabase, Google and GitHub are companies some of whose teams are located outside the European Union. Where data may be accessed from there, it is protected by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU-US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

6. Services you connect yourself

  • Anthropic (Claude): when you use Motion IA, your requests, your project code and frames from your videos are sent to Anthropic through your Claude account or API key, under your relationship with Anthropic and its privacy policy. We don't receive these exchanges.
  • ElevenLabs (if you add your key): the text of your voice-overs and the description of your sounds are sent to ElevenLabs, under its privacy policy.
  • Voicebox: runs on your Mac.

7. Cookies

The app uses no advertising cookies or trackers. Your sign-in session is stored on your Mac. The statistics installation identifier is described in §4c.

8. Security

Limited access to data (each user only sees what concerns them), encrypted connections, sensitive files protected on your Mac, and community templates reviewed before publication.

9. Your rights

You can request access to your data, its correction, deletion or portability, restriction of its processing, and object to statistics (or simply turn them off in the settings).

  • Delete your account: email contact@webxpansion.com from your account's address, with the subject "Account deletion". We delete your account, username, published templates and reports within 30 days and confirm it to you.
  • For any other right: contact@webxpansion.com. We reply within one month.
  • If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country.

10. Minors

Accounts are reserved for people aged 15 and over. If you believe a younger child has provided us with data, email us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

If this policy changes significantly, we will notify you in the app. The current version is always available in the Motion IA tab and on this website.

Website. Our host Hostinger records technical logs (IP address, requested page, date) for the security and proper operation of the site, kept according to its policy. The download button leads to GitHub releases, which sees your IP address when you download.
